He's here! He's here!

Nicholas Andrew came into the world at 10:22 on Monday, October 20.
Labor started about noon that day. Mostly back pain with a bit of tightening in my belly. I finished work, and then called the doctor, who said to go to the hospital for monitoring.
Drove myself to the hospital. Got hooked up to the monitors. I was definitely having contractions about 2-3 minutes apart. Got an epidural about 8, and contractions stopped, so pitocin was started.
We were joking that it would be pretty cool if he was born at 10:2o on 10/20. So, pushing was started about 10pm. Only had to push for a little bit as he was born at 10:22. Missed the time we set by 2 minutes, but in military time, his birth time is 22:22, so that is pretty cool.

He's a perfect baby so far. Sleeps most of the time, wakes up when he's hungry, and is nursing like a champ!

He weighed 6 lbs, 9.5 oz and was 20 inches long. Blond hair and blue eyes... so far. He's the spitting image of Jackson as a baby.

Mom is doing pretty good. Sore, but that is to be expected. We're very happy to be going home tomorrow, that's for sure. It's hard to sleep in hospitals! Too many people coming in and out and too many noises!
